WHAT A SATSANG !!!!!!!! simply out of this world.............
We decided to celebrate Guddi Padwa with a satsang by none other than Prasana Prabhu. We had already expected the satsang to be GREAT !!....and for once (and gladly so :) ) one of the sutras of the part 1 course (expectations reduce joy) didnt hold good...because the satsang wasnt just great, it was AWESOME,......multiplying our joy manyfold ! :) :)
Prasanaji, inspite of the heat and the smoke of the tortoise coil ( what to do !!! tooo many macchars), outdid himself...if thats possible.... He decided to sing the "old" bhajans and rendered each one soooo soulfully that it was hard to keep oneself from just closing the eyes and drifting off onto another plane of peace and bliss. Everyone sang along and swayed and clapped....mesmerized by the singing that came completely from the heart. Towards the end, when the audience demanded one more bhajan and then ...one more please.... he changed the tempo and got us all up , swaying and dancing..... just beautiful , joyful and peaceful smiles all around !
After the satsang, Prasanaji spoke a bit about seva and the reasons why seva should be done. Not quoting in exact words... this is my gist....Never do seva under pressure, do it beacause you want to give , to share , to care. Enjoy the process of seva and the results will be taken care of....obviously they will be fruitful :).....Do the seva not just to help another , but with the awareness and understanding that it is actually you....who are being helped the most . The process of seva is helping you to grow....in many ways . He also spoke about how when problems come in our lives....obstacles are thrown our way....we need to face them as a challenge and not complain and whine.....why me??. It is the Guru who creates these "challenges " for us to help us grow and it is He who gives us the strength to overcome them. So, next time, a "challenge" comes your way....thank Him and work through it with faith in Him and yourself....The satsang finally ended with a high tempo.....jai jai radha raman hari boll....and lots of happy smiles and yummy prasad !
The volunteers did a great job of organising the programme and more than that had an absolutely great time while organising and even after the event !!! Lots of smiles and laughter spiced with good natured cribbing and leg pulling.....NO ONE is spared !! :) :)
I really hope in the future, whenever such events are announced or even for any other seva projects, more people will come forward and offer their time. You will definitely get "seva ka mewa" but trust me....you will have so much fun...it will be a beautiful memory etched forever in your mind....Jaigurudev....and keep smiling.....:)
